Jaan Foundation was started in 1999 to give hope and critical support to children in need of care and protection. Its founder, Sr. Jeanne Devos, I.C.M. was earlier instrumental in highlighting the plight of child and adult domestic workers in India through the National Domestic Workers’ Movement (NDWM). Today, Jaan Foundation works to ensure a better childhood for child workers and children of domestic workers through its lobbying and advocacy programme that promotes Child Rights and its direct service programmes such as education, skills development, training workshops and temporary shelter and rehabilitation services for children rescued from abusive domestic work or trafficking situations.
